The Opportunity

This position has high accountability and reports directly to the CEO. The Vice President will be a key member of the leadership team and works directly with the Executive Team to drive and implement the organization's strategic goals. The Vice President will be an effective "people" manager and problem-solver and will be able to develop, promote and execute the strategic initiatives of the Company. This position oversees key operations of the organization while expanding new operational activities, procedures and logistics. You will lead the day-to-day operations and be responsible for the efficiency of the organization, which includes maintaining control of diverse business operations and establishing and following a set of policies and processes.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee and direct the entire operations of the Company, including but not limited to laboratory operations
  • Investigate, analyze current operational processes and present options for improvement
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company and recommend alternatives for increase operational capacity
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of all business functions such as Procurement, Laboratory and IT
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate rapid growth objectives
  • Be responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all operational processes internal and external
  • Represent the Company with clients and business partners
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with the Chief Executive Officer
  • Advise and support senior management team with financial planning, budgeting, and decision making
  • Manage budgeting and resource allocation efforts alongside the other C-level executives and the leadership team
  • Provide leadership in achieving profit objectives
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
  • Ensure all program initiatives align with the company's core values and culture
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team and as an officer of the company.
  • Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team and direct reports
  • Prioritize strategic goals as assigned while continually developing the team

Qualifications

  • 10 - 15 years' of executive experience along with a Master's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years showing progressively responsible roles and responsibilities with a background in a regulated life science or health care organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, experience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and business development, sound decision making skills, and excel in data analysis and performance/operation metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Blood Banking/ Human Product strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of FDA regulation section 1271
